RomanceQuest: The Ballad of Parker and Kit

Hello there! My name is Kit, and today I will confess my love to my best friend, Parker. But first, I have some simple errands to run... What could go wrong?

This is a short (~1 hour), story-driven, 2D top-down game boy-style game, inspired by the games of my childhood. I wanted to create a simple, quick game that can be enjoyed in one sitting, and as a result there are no save states. 

I created this game with GBStudio, and it is my first ever game! It was an opportunity for me to learn the ropes and try things out as I go. It's not the most complex game out there, but I learned everything from scratch and created basically everything (assets, music, backgrounds) myself over the course of about three weeks! I'm so excited to share it with everyone, and can't wait to take what I've learned into more projects in the future!
